Seuraava luku / The next chapter

Mikäli taivaalle ei ilmesty mustia joutsenia, niin jatkan seikkailujuoksuja melko pian Saharan ja Islannin jäätikköjuoksujen jälkeen.

Saharan vuoro on siis lokakuussa 2026 ja Islannin jäätikön keväällä 2027.

Näiden jälkeen valittavana on joko hiekka-aavikko tai jäätikkö.

Jos pitää nyt veikata, niin lähden edellä mainittujen seikkailujen jälkeen aavikolle.

Mutta minne?

Mielessä on pari vaihtoehtoa, joista ensimmäinen on Arabian hiekka-aavikko.

Sen ylitys jäi kesken vuonna 2021, joten se on todennäköisin suunta.

Juoksun reitti kulkee Saudi Arabiassa ja matkaa kertyy tuhannen kilometrin verran.

Minulla on siellä jo hyvä tiimi ja reittikin on tiedossa, mutta rahoituksen kanssa on vielä paljon tehtävää.

Eräs reittivaihtoehto, jota olen myös tutkinut, kulkee Omanista Arabiemiraatteihin.

Namibian hiekka-aavikko kiinnosta myös kovasti….

Hiekka-aavikkojuoksu voisi toteutua joko loppuvuodesta 2027 tai vuonna 2028.

Jos joku lukijoista kysyy, eikö mikään muu kuin aavikko tai jäätikkö kelpaa, niin vastaus on….

If no black swans appear on the horizon, I’ll continue my adventure runs fairly soon after the Sahara and the two Iceland glacier runs.

The Sahara will be in October 2026, and the Iceland glacier in spring 2027.

After these, the choice will be either a sand desert or a glacier.

If I had to guess right now, I’d say that after the above-mentioned adventures I’ll be heading back to the desert.

But where?

I have a couple of options in mind, the first being the Arabian sand desert (Rub al Khali/The Empty Quarter)

I had to abandon the crossing there in 2021, so that is the most likely direction.

The running route goes through Saudi Arabia and will cover roughly one thousand kilometers.

I already have a good team there and the route is mapped out, but there is still a lot of work to do with the funding.

Another route option I’ve been exploring runs from Oman to the United Arab Emirates.

The sand desert in Namibia also interests me greatly…

The sand desert run could take place either at the end of 2027 or in 2028.

If any readers are wondering whether nothing other than a desert or a glacier will do, the answer is…
