Kyseessä oli kobran purema.

Kun juoksin Kalaharin autiomaan halki, niin kohtasin aivan liian usein puffaddereita, joka on Afrikassa ja Arabian niemimaalla elävä erittäin myrkyllinen ja vaarallinen kyykäärme.

Paskamaista kyllä, niitä loikoilee myös Saharan autiomaassa ja erityisesti Marokossa, jossa aion juosta sen 1000 kilometriä lokakuun aikana.

Kiitos suojavärin, sitä on erittäin vaikea havaita.

No, on vaan oltava tarkkana.

Olen ollut aktiivisesti yhteydessä paikalliseen tiimipomoon Youssefiin.

Kun kerroin, että voisi tulla paikalle jopa syyskuun loppupuolella, niin hän sanoi “älä tule”.

Tuolloin on vielä aivan liian kuumaa!

It was a cobra bite.

When I ran across the Kalahari Desert, I encountered puff adders far too often. It is a highly venomous and dangerous viper species found in Africa and the Arabian Peninsula.

Annoyingly enough, they also lounge around in the Sahara Desert, especially in Morocco, where I plan to run those 1,000 kilometers in October.

Thanks to their camouflage, they are extremely difficult to spot.
