“A lot of people ask why I set out on these often crazy trips and to be honest, I don\u2019t know. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They take me away from my precious family and I miss them every second I\u2019m away. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And I know they worry about me when I\u2019m gone. So why? Are they fun? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It depends how you define fun, I guess. Adventures aren\u2019t really adventures unless there\u2019s some element of danger. They can be gruelling. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mentally and physically they can grind you down until all you can think about is just putting one step in front of the other. You\u2019re either freezing in sub-zero temperatures or your skin is blistering from the heat even when you\u2019re in the shade. They push you far beyond limits you never knew existed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It can be heart-breakingly lonely and there have been a few times when I thought I\u2019d never get home. (v-moiset myrskyt, Gr\u00f6nlanti 2013)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the call of adventure is so strong that it\u2019s a need. Fulfilling that need makes me feel blazingly alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some people have to travel beyond the known horizon every now and then. I\u2019m one of them. But what\u2019s even stronger is the call of family and they are what keep me going and what always brings me home”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ihmiset jotka eiv\u00e4t tunne Gregi\u00e4 voisivat kuvitella, ett\u00e4 h\u00e4n on joku super-ihminen, mutta kyll\u00e4 h\u00e4n on ihan tavallinen tyyppi, joka vaan tekee v\u00e4h\u00e4n ep\u00e4tavallisia juttuja. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yll\u00e4 mainittujen seikkailujen lis\u00e4ksi h\u00e4n on kiivennyt Everestin huipulle, soutanut yksin Atlantin valtameren halki ja niin edelleen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kun h\u00e4n l\u00e4hti valmistelemaan Atlantin soutuprojektia, niin h\u00e4n pyysi minua siihen mukaan. Oltaisiin menty kaksikkona niin, ett\u00e4 toinen soutaa 12h ja toinen jatkaa siit\u00e4…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Se ei vaan ollut minun juttu, joten j\u00e4tin v\u00e4liin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mutta juoksu on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Olen kuitenkin pit\u00e4nyt kaksi lepop\u00e4iv\u00e4\u00e4 juoksemisesta ja tehnyt sen sijaan salitreenej\u00e4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
